Computing matrix inversion with optical networks.
With this paper we bring about a discussion on the computing potential of complex optical networks and provide experimental demonstration that an optical fiber network can be used as an analog processor to calculate matrix inversion. A 3x3 matrix is inverted as a proof-of-concept demonstration using a fiber network containing three nodes and operating at telecomm wavelength. For an NxN matrix, ...
متن کاملComputing the additive degree-Kirchhoff index with the Laplacian matrix
For any simple connected undirected graph, it is well known that the Kirchhoff and multiplicative degree-Kirchhoff indices can be computed using the Laplacian matrix. We show that the same is true for the additive degree-Kirchhoff index and give a compact Matlab program that computes all three Kirchhoffian indices with the Laplacian matrix as the only input.
متن کاملA stable iteration to the matrix inversion
The matrix inversion plays a signifcant role in engineering and sciences. Any nonsingular square matrix has a unique inverse which can readily be evaluated via numerical techniques such as direct methods, decomposition scheme, iterative methods, etc. In this research article, first of all an algorithm which has fourth order rate of convergency with conditional stability will be proposed. ...
متن کاملComputing with Matrix Invariants
This is an improved version of the talk of the author given at the Antalya Algebra Days VII on May 21, 2005. We present an introduction to the theory of the invariants under the action of GLn(C) by simultaneous conjugation of d matrices of size n × n. Then we survey some results, old or recent, obtained by a dozen of mathematicians, on minimal sets of generators, the defining relations of the a...
متن کاملComputing with matrix groups∗
A group is usually input into a computer by specifying the group either using a presentation or using a generating set of permutations or matrices. Here we will emphasize the latter approach, referring to [Si3, Si4, Ser1] for details of the other situations. Thus, the basic computational setting discussed here is as follows: a group is given, specified as G = 〈X〉 in terms of some generating set...
